Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about Spelling Bee Battle. Still stuck? Get in touch.
Is Spelling Bee Battle free to play?
Yes. Spelling Bee Battle is completely free to play, supported by ads. Optional themed word packs can be purchased, but the full game — every mode, ranked play, and the standard word list — is free.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play as a guest right away. Creating a free account lets your progress, stats, and ranked rating follow you across devices, but it's entirely optional.
How do I play with a friend?
Choose Create Room to host a match, then share the room code or link. Your friend picks Join Room and enters the code. You'll both hear the same words at the same time.
How does ranked work?
Ranked matches adjust your rating based on wins and losses, moving you up a ladder of tiers from Phonetic to Luminary. Ranked always uses the standard word list, and leaving a ranked match early counts as a forfeit.
Does capitalization or spacing matter when I spell?
No. Answers are checked on letters only — case and spaces are ignored — so you can spell a multi-word entry like a country name with or without spaces and it will be accepted.
How are words chosen and are they real?
Words come from a curated dictionary list with real definitions, tiered by difficulty. There's also an official championship-style list and themed word packs. Difficulty escalates as a match goes on.
What are word packs?
Word packs are optional themed sets — Countries, Animals, Dinosaurs, and more — that replace the standard words in Solo, Practice, and custom rooms. They never affect ranked or Quick Match, which always use the standard list.
The word didn't play — what do I do?
Make sure your device isn't muted and that your browser allows audio. Tap the screen once to enable sound, then use the replay button. If a pre-generated voice isn't available, the game falls back to your browser's built-in voice.
How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?
We'd love to hear it. Email us at famestudioco@gmail.com — we read everything and update the game often.
